WILSON T2000 JIMMY CONNOR TENNIS RACQUET - unstrung  (and was never strung before){ p a r t  i c u l a r s }Racquet has original tag:  Wilson T2000 with a picture of Jimmy Connors.  It was likely purchased in the 1970's.  The racquet has never been strung.  Leather grip is also in new condition (with light storage wear on the leather at the very tip of the racquet's butt).Racquet's tag notes that it is licensed under the patent of Rene Lacoste, and the steel frame is warrantied, with exception of the grip and strings.  Racquet is noted in the paperwork to last for 'life' although it is further noted that 'life' may be a misnomer.“Steel T2000  with a 4 1/4 grip .....LIGHTDimensions (tip to tip):  26.5" long; 9" wide.  Unstrung weight 12 1/4 oz.PLEASE NOTE THAT RACQUET (and grip) ARE BRAND NEW.  THE RACQUET WAS PURCHASED MANY YEARS AGO AND WAS IN A CLOSET (indoors) BUT FORGOTTEN UNTIL JUST RECENTLY.  THE RACQUET'S GRIP HAS IRREGULAR MARKS ON THE VERY EDGE OF THE GRIP (see pictures) THAT OCCURRED SOMETIME DURING THE STORAGE PERIOD.Per a UTUBE on Google this is the racquet that Billie Jean King played with.  She was the 1st pro to win a major with a steel racquet.....the T2000!  Jimmy Connors also used this racquet. The script below is a copy/paste from a UTUBE post (google for the T2000 Jimmy Connors racquet and then open the UTUBE link):  Uploaded on Jun 1, 2008.Introducing the Wilson T-2000. Yes it is a tennis racquet. You won't find it in stores anymore, but one time it was as popular as the original Volkswagen Beetle was in its day. I still use it. I have a portable stringing machine and adapters and instructions on how to string this racquet, because it requires a different procedure for stringing and it doesn't stay secure without the special adapters. And I string this racquet with very thin and stretchable string at a fairly tight tension, but it pounds (sic) 'as' it is low compared to today's racquets that require higher tensions. And this racquet doesn't require that much string length and because it has a small head and the strings are fairly close together, the strings last a long time before they break. I experiment with adding lead tape around the head. (and more.....)
A fun racquet for tennis enthusiasts!thanks for looking!
