EXTREMELY RARE Fasold Stauch Bock Wallendorf German Art Deco Porcelain FigurineFrom The Estate of the Late Jackie Collins Famed Author I recently had the opportunity to purchase an Art Deco Figurine collection that belonged to famed author, Jackie Collins.  Having long been a fan of her work and admirer of her as a person, it is an honor to have researched each piece.  Most of her collection was found when she was young, living in London, she would go to Flea Markets and purchase them one at a time, some became a muse for a book she was writing and others just gave her pleasure to have such beauty close by.  Her collection pieces date from the late 1800's through the 1930's.  This is a another rare figurine, made by French porcelain maker Terre de Retz.  The figurine on top was made to represent Suzanne Lenglen.  Born Suzanne Rachel Flore Lenglen was a French tennis player who won 31 Championship titles between 1914 and 1926. She dominated women's tennis from 1914 until 1926 when she turned professional.  She also won the Gold Medal in the 1920 Summer Olympics in Belgium.  Unfortunately she died at the early age of 39 years old from Leukemia. There have been a couple of these figurines that have come up for auction but with blond hair.  This figurine is the only one I've seen with Suzanne's black hair.   There is some missing paint in small places, and there is a separation line in the top rim of the bowl part where it was joined together but the piece as a whole is structurally whole.  This one and the whole collection was owned and loved for many years by the late, Jackie Collins.  I am unsure where or when she acquired this piece, but it is a very special one.  Suzanne Lenglen  was known for wearing fashionable French fashions on the court, she was nicknamed the 'first female tennis flapper' as her moves were so amazing she literally appeared to be dancing.  Winning the World Hard Court Championships held at Saint-Cloud, she turned 15 years old during the tournament. This made her the youngest winner of a major championship in tennis history, a record she still holds. This is a fabulous Art Deco piece belonged to a famous female author, is a piece of tennis history and in the likeness of an amazing woman. 5.25" Tall  4" Wide  Any Additional Questions, please contact me via email Selling Vintage and Antique Disclaimer: I sell Antiques and Vintage items, they come with dust, scratches, bumps, bruises and the like, i.e, they are not perfect items.  I do not claim nor am I an expert on most things I list.  I do however try my best to research each an every item I find and give the best description listing possible.  If I am missing something important about an item or have made an error in the listing, please contact me, the more information, the better.  If you purchase something from me and during the postal ride it is broken or it is not as I described, please contact me so we can figure out a way to make us both happy.  Leaving negative feedback without first attempting to tell me there is an issue, it not kind.  I work very hard to find, list and properly and expertly ship each an every item...I treat you the customer the same way I would want and expect to be treated.   Please, try to do the same in return. **California Residents, I charge 9% Sales Tax.  Shipping quotes are for shipping within the US ONLY but do not include Alaska or Hawaii.
