Pro Kennex SMI 5g Kinetic MidPlus (1999 version) tennis racquet. 4 1/2 grip. Racquet is in 7/10 condition. Court rash on the tip and sides with some minor scraping. A couple of large paint scrapes on one side but damage to the graphite. A half dozen minor paint nicks here and there. The head guard plastic has court rash on it, but no tears and is actually in decent shape. No cracks or structural issues. There is 4 grams of lead tape on the tip that can easily be peeled off. Synthetic grip that was always covered by overgrips. Strung with a hybrid of Genesis Heptonic 18 poly on the mains and Gosen Sheep Micro Gut 17 on the crosses. Butt cap is intact. Offering some useful pop and good access to spin, this one also offers some nice mass behind each shot. Everything is kept maneuverable by a player friendly 12 points head light balance. In play, the SMI 5g rewards from all areas of the court making it a great choice for the all court player. I find it to have bit more flex and control than the later 5s. Volleys feel crisp and precise with noticeably good stability and comfort. Player's looking for an arm friendly racquet with plenty to offer from all areas of the court should definitely take this SMI 5g for a test drive. Best suited to 4.0 to 7.0 level players. This one would make a nice backup frame if you still play this model or a nice addition to your racquet collection if you want to try one of most arm friendly racquets ever created.
