New to this version is a braided, more elastic Graphite/Basalt construction. The result is a racquet whose hoop flexes more at impact, giving it slightly better feel and ball pocketing than the previous version. Wilson also expands the sweetspot with its Parallel Drilling. This technology reduces the friction between string and racquet in key areas of the frame so the strings can absorb more shock. From the baseline the 98S rewards big swings with penetrating depth and explosive spin.
