Beautiful Vintage Cortland Smoke-Tone Challenge Wooden Wood Tennis Racquet. Made by Cortland Tennis Racquets in Cortland, NY. Some windings on the head have come loose. The grip material has been unwound and is missing. There's an absolutely gorgeous patina and the stringing is all intact. I found a catalog from 1941 showing this type of racquet although it could be from an earlier era (see pic). This would make a great display piece!
