This is the original version of British great tennis player Tim Henman's Slanzenger Pro Braided racquet. This version is accounted for most of his career success, and made him famous as the only hope of British tennis back in the 90s. Alas, the best he ever did was semifinal appearances in the Wimbledon. The racquet can't do everything. Not when Pete Sampras and Patrick Rafter and Andre Agassi and Goran Ivanisevic and Boris Becker and Stefan Edberg were around. Enough of Tim Henman's story. Let's get back to the racquet. I bought it from Midwest Sports in Cincinnati Ohio back in 1998. It was strung with Technifibre NRG2 17g at 57lbs. The string is still on it. Strung weight is 11.6oz or about 328g. 27 inches standard length 95 square inches. Grip size 5. This racquet is perfect for aggressive serve and volley style of playing. It moves through air like a scalpel in the hand of a skill surgeon. It's head light, 22mm straight beam provides solid feel with the ample 95 square inches sweet spot. When coupled with 16x18 string pattern which is very open, this racquet can generate very good bite of spins. The soft Technifibre NRG2 17gauge string is perfectly suited to dampen any vibration as well as provides a slingshot effect in the shots produced. It's very easy on your arm. It reminds me of Prince Precision Responds and perhaps a little bit of Wilson Pro Staff 95. The combination of 22mm flat beam sub-12 oz with 95+ square inches was a very successful configuration for racquet in the 90s, especially amongst aggressive serve and volley attackers. In the black top quarter of the frame, woven graphite fibers can clearly be seen. It's not a paint job. I rarely played with it. I am too used to Sampras' Pro Staff to switch. Thus only minor scuff marks are around the bumper. The frame and original grommets are in top condition. I used overwrap grip. The original grip is somewhat degraded to a point where it rubs off. This is a very common quality problem of synthetic grips manufactured in the 90s, regardless of the brand. I would provide you with overwrap with purchase. The racquet is being sold as-is, with the cover. Buyer pays shipping and handling. I will provide overwrap grip.
