Offering big spin and improved feel, Wilson delivers an impressive update to the Blade 98S. Like the previous generation, this racquet comes with an open 18x16 string pattern, making it ideal for those who want easy access to spin but also prefer the added directional control that comes with 18 main strings. New to this version is a braided, more elastic Graphite/Basalt construction. The result is a racquet whose hoop flexes more at impact, giving it slightly better feel and ball pocketing than the previous version. Wilson also expands the sweetspot with its Parallel Drilling. This technology reduces the friction between string and racquet in key areas of the frame so the strings can absorb more shock. From the baseline the 98S rewards big swings with penetrating depth and explosive spin. On serves this racquet shines on slices and kickers, and there's plenty of heat available for those who can swing it fast. *This racquet is compatible with the . Heavy balls to opponent's backhand or short angle is my favorite shot with this rac. It dips then spits out almost to the fence forcing the opponent to hit a short ball back that can be attacked or put away. Comes strung with Solinco Hyper G - 16 gauge in the mains and 18 gauge in the cross for added feel, comfort and for more insane spin.Used mainly for doubles play (appx 10 hrs a week), rotated between the 3 racquets for even wear and tear.
