If you are a fan of Steffi Graf, you won't find a better condition racquet. This is the last racquet Steffi Graf endorsed. She won her last Grand Slam (22nd), French Open in 1999 with it. Two weeks later she then went on to use the same racquet going all the way to the Wimbledon final before falling to Lindsay Davenport. That's when she decided to retire for good. She may not be the most well liked player back then, but she is certainly the most respected in the Open Era. She retired with just two more Grand Slam titles shy of the 24 wins by Margaret Court. Graf was not held hostage by the chase to the tennis record book, unlike what we have seen in so many players. She could have broken Margaret's record. But she decided to end her career on her own term. After the Wimbledon loss, she felt she could no longer be the best, so it was time to say goodbye. What a class act. True champion. I remember this version was only available in Europe. I had to purchase it from a tennis store in UK and had it shipped to US. It cost me $169 USD back then. Notice the string pattern difference in Graf's photo and my racquet. Mine is 16 x 19, while the one in Graf's hand is 18 x 20. This was a common practice back then where the general market version is customized to player's preferences. This racquet is brand new, never used, unwrapped. The grip around butt cap is a bit worn. I would strongly recommend overwrap. Synthetic grip made back then will rub off, it was a very common problem for racquet made back then. If you open the original wrap on the grip, chances are you will need an overwrap. Specs: Factory Strung with Wilson synthetic gut 15 gauge 21 mm flat beam, 27 inches length 70% graphite, 30% fiberglass. Unstrung weight 11oz 312g Strung weight 11.5oz 327g Head size 95 sq inches Unstrung balance 30 cm / 14 puts head light Strung balance 31 cm / 10 its head light Swing index 7.1 I will include synthetic overwrap for you. I would recommend using either 17 or 16 gauge string for the best feel. This racquet is sold as-is. Buyer pays shipping and handling. 15% of the proceed is donated to ASPCA for our animal friends.
