Very very nice 1930's FH Ayres racquet. 3 ply grooved handle wrapped with Ayres stamped leather in great condition with beautiful patina. Manufacturer's lettering is complete and maintains brilliant color. Cross strings are original English red gut. Vertical strings are ivory (white) gut. 3 strands of green gut trebling at the top, 2 strands at the bottom. Green gut strand of purling at top of sweet spot, red gut strand of purling the at bottom. There are repairs to to several cross strings and one vertical (look closely at pics). One vertical string is broken and not repaired. There is no warping of the frame. No deep scratches or gouges.
