There is some tungsten tape at 3 and 9 of the hoop. This increases the swing weight and increases the torsional stability of the racquet. It is easily removable and non toxic. Peels right off. I will keep the tape on unless you tell me to take it off. That way you can see if you like the way it plays with the extra weight. NOTE 2The black string is a coated gut (KLIP) and that's why it's black.
