The Volkl Super G V1 Pro did not disappoint from the moment it was taken out of the tennis bag and its matte gunmetal grey and bright orange cosmetics were revealed. While the specs remain relatively the same, the new Super G technology combines new speed grommets with a V-Sponse material for exceptional dampening and energy transfer. The playtesters found two significant differences with the Super G update: It was more maneuverable and more powerful. All of the playtesters also agreed that the racquet was extremely comfortable and played much softer than its 68RA stiffness rating. Two playtesters really liked the Super G V1 Pro on serves for its power and maneuverability, while the other two playtesters found more success when returning serves with control and spin. We think most players will enjoy the maneuverability and stability of the Super G V1 Pro in stock form, but there's ample room to add weight if desired.
